ANDREW RYAN

Senior Technical Account Manager

Andrew is Senior Technical Account Manager, Red Hat Australia/New Zealand and is responsible for providing proactive technical support to large enterprise customers. Andrew has held positions of systems administrator, lecturer and analyst/programmer in the education and defence sectors. Andrew graduated from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology with bachelor's degrees in engineering with honours and applied science. Andrew is one exam away from being a Red Hat Certified Architect.

Senior Technology Consultant

Daniel Hand has a Master of Engineering and Computing Science from University of Oxford and is a consultant with the Red Hat Global Professional Services team for Australia and New Zealand. Daniel has seven years of experience as the technical lead for large, complex infrastructure projects.

EUGENE TEO

Linux Enterprise Application Porting (LEAP) Engineer

Eugene Teo is a LEAP Engineer at Red Hat Asia Pacific. He focuses on Independent Software Vendors going through joint projects with Oracle at the LEAP centre and other porting centres. He provides consultation for migration, porting, and performance tuning issues on Red Hat Enterprise Linux. Eugene works on SystemTap and occasionally helps out in the Red Hat Security Response Team. Prior to Red Hat, he was a security researcher at the Centre for Strategic Infocomm Technologies, focusing on Linux kernel vulnerability research. Eugene is an active member of the Linux and open source community in Singapore for nearly a decade, having held different portfolios within the Linux Users' Group (Singapore). He has spoken at numerous events such as the 5th Asia Open Source Software Symposium in Beijing and SyScan'05 in Bangkok. He holds a bachelor's degree in computing from National University of Singapore, and is a Red Hat Certified Engineer.

HARISH PILLAY

Manager, Partner Development

Harish Pillay has been with Red Hat Asia Pacific since September 2003 and is currently overseeing the company's Independent Software Vendors (ISV) ecosystem initiatives in Asia Pacific. Harish joined Red Hat from Maringo Tree Technologies, an open source consultancy, training and services company he co-founded in 2002. He has held senior management and technical positions at Brokat Asia, Sembawang Media, CSA Automated and CSA Holdings.

An avid open source activist and commentator, Harish co-founded the Linux Users' Group Singapore (LUGS) in 1993 and is currently its President. He is a senior member of the Singapore Computer Society and a member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. In 2005, he was inducted into the Oregon State University's Engineering Council of Outstanding Early Career Engineers in recognition of distinction in professional practice and service to the profession and to the society at large. Over the years, he has presented papers and spoken at numerous events such as the IX Asia 2003/2004 in Singapore, Asia Open Source Software Symposium, LinuxWorld Asia in New Delhi, COSGOV in Hanoi and Indian eGov Conference, India.

SUBRAMANIAM SATYAMOORTHY

Director, Market Development, Asia Pacific

Satya began his career with Unisys in India and was one of the first Java geeks to ride the Java and Internet tide since 1994. He was the head of the e-business center of CGI (formerly IMRGlobal) in Florida, and was instrumental in transitioning IMRGlobal from a Y2K company to a modernisation and e-business consulting firm. He then took up the position of Head of Architecture, National Division, Nielsen Media Research, the company that pioneered media and TV ratings in United States. Satya spearheaded the use of open source products which resulted in huge savings on J2EE application server licenses. As Head of Architecture, he spoke regularly about enterprise architecture, open source software and data warehousing. Satya, an early adopter and advocate of JBoss products and open source since 2001, became the founding Director of Asia Pacific operations, JBoss Inc. A prolific and interesting speaker, Satya currently heads Market Development, Asia Pacific, JBoss,a division of Red Hat.

ANDREW BARTLETT

Andrew Bartlett has been a Samba developer for over 5 years, specialising in authentication systems. As a member of Red Hat's Identity Management and Directory Services group, he aims to better integrate Samba, in particular the new Samba4 development series, with Red Hat's identity management strategy.

HERBERT XU
Red Hat Australia/New Zealand
Principal Software Engineer

Herbert Xu works on the Xen hypervisor team, part of the Emerging Technologies Group at Red Hat. His work involves auditing the security interface between the Xen hypervisor and guests, as well as looking for ways to improve performance and scalability. In his spare time, Herbert looks after the cryptographic API in Linux, and codes on the Linux networking stack.

JOSHUA WULF

Technical Engineer, Global Support Services

Joshua Wulf currently works as an engineer for Red Hat Australia. He is currently doing extensive work on documentation for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. Joshua has been supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux in Red Hat Global Support Services for the last two years. He also plays the role of ambassador for Fedora during and after working hours.

LEON HO

Manager, Engineering

Leon Ho is Manager of Engineering for Red Hat Australia/New Zealand. In this role, Leon manages internationalisation engineering for Red Hat products. Over the last few years, the internationalisation team has added a number of new language support including Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese, Traditional Chinese, Russian and five Indian languages. Prior to working in management, Leon was himself a developer and also a contributor to internationalisation in open source projects. Leon was with Beguide Network, where he specialised in web services and engineering. He holds a Bachelor of Information Technology and a Graduate Certificate of Human Resource and Management from the Queensland University of Technology.

RICHARD KEECH

Chief Technology Architect

Richard Keech is a consultant with the Red Hat Global Professional Services for Australia and New Zealand. Richard has nine years of experience focusing on large enterprise Linux deployments across the region. He has a Bachelor of Engineering and a Master of Engineering, from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

RUSSELL COKER
Linux Consultant

Russell Coker has worked on Security-Enhanced Linux (SELinux) since 2001. Russell is currently working for a financial company and also for Inumbers. Prior to working on SELinux, he spent five years working for Internet Service Providers in Europe.
